Made by Poole Pottery, a ceramic studio running for over 100 years, and known for their handmade ceramics that are painted by hand too. This lidded butter dish is a classic example of this makers design. We estimate this design was created between 1959 and 1967, due to the floral pattern and the white base (after 1934 Poole Pottery changed from a traditional red clay to white earthenware body).
We love this pretty floral lidded butter set for its painterly style florals on the lid and dotted navy edge on the base. Pair it with churned English butter with sea salt (our favourite) and a little wooden butter knife on your breakfast table.
