Invite the "Green Fairy" to your next dinner party with this incredible handmade absinthe fountain as your centrepiece. Perfect for a prohibition party!
Absinthe fountains were primarily used in high-end bars during the late 19th century and early 20th century in France, due to their luxury status and high price. It would be brought to the table, where patrons could prepare the absinthe themselves, pouring the water over their glass of absinthe and sugar. It was the preferred way to prepare absinthe as you can carefully control the flow of water and create a perfectly blended glass of absinthe.
This elegant piece is handmade from mouth-blown glass. It includes a removable lid to add iced water into the bowl topped with a pineapple fleuron (the symbol for hospitality and friendship) and a water filter in the bowl to prevent ice getting caught in the spouts. It could easily be used as a luxury water fountain in your home when not stealing focus at a party.
