Hand-thrown from clay by artist Hana Karim, this large, organically shaped jade blue stoneware platter is encased in an earthy black clay that is extremely tactile. These platters make an incredible centrepiece for dinner parties or serve simple suppers, bringing artisanal beauty to an everyday meal.
Hana Karim is a talented Slovenian artist, the daughter of a potter and a painter respectively. She works from her studio in Ljubljana, using clay to create stunning yet ultimately utilitarian tableware finished with unusual coloured glazes. Karim believes that the 'infusion of beauty into even the most commonplace items, whether it be a plate or a toothbrush, enriches our existence'. It's no wonder then that her tableware has already reached cult status around the world.
We've worked with this artist for a while now and the art she creates never fails to astound us. There's something incredibly grounding and soothing about her pieces, from the coloured glazes inspired by nature to the satisfyingly organic shapes.
