Large Female Italian Ceramic Bust Vase

A contemporary take on the Sicilian moors head, the legendary symbol of Sicily portraying the face of a Moorish girl who fell in love with a married man and on finding out cut off his head and used it as a vase for buds of basil, watering them with her own tears. The heady scent inspired her neighbours to commission ceramic vases with the same features as the Moor's head.

This vase is handmade from porcelain ceramic with a linen-white glaze. Handpicked by founder Lexi for her own wedding decor, this decorative vase looks best when overflowing with peach pink peonies or branches from Sicilian lemon trees. Treasure it as a standalone vase or display as a pair with her doomed beau on plinths in your entryway as art pieces that honour the legacy of Sicily.

We mail out orders two days a week: Tuesdays and Fridays. We aim to have your order out the door the same day wherever possible.

RETURNS
