Each of these chunky soup bowls features a dark rim, knobbly handles that look like ears and hand painted with a satisfyingly clumsy tomato illustration, glazed to give it a lustrous finish and stamped with the Gallo cockerel on the glazed base.
Villeroy and Boch were founded by iron master Francois Boch and his three sons in 1748. This particular collection is estimated to have been made between 1960-1969 in Italy.
